Set above a tranquil water meadow valley complete with middle distanced water mill this setting feels unchanged for over 200 years. Thomas Hardy would recognise this place as of his age. Timeless. Nearer to the 17th Century Sambrook Manor House itself the gardens are relaxing well planted, full of interest and with plenty of viewpoint seating plus an emerging arboretum to explore. Surprise and delight combine in this special place. Will you find the deer family?

Visited Sambrook Manor on Sunday 30 August 2020 as part of the NGS Open gardens event. This year we had to pre-book our visit for a time slot and paid on line for the visit. The Sambrook Manor had organised car parking in a field just before the garden with a gentle walk to the garden. The garden was a sloped large lawned area with planting around the edges. A lower garden / aborteum with a large variety of trees is below the large lawned area. Teas and plants were on sale in the courtyard and everyone in our party had a gentle relaxed visit.

We (the 9 of us) stayed for a long weekend in early September 2016 and we had a wonderful time. The accommodation was beautifully finished, very clean and comfortable and well equipped. Sarah the owner could not have been more helpful. We would strongly recommend this self catering accommodation.
